Ratings on Certain Packs
The Thera-Med Cold Pack Headache Band is the best
cold pack I've come across for the relief of headache or Migraine pain. It's
light weight makes it a possibility for people who are bothered by the weight of
a traditional ice pack and other gel packs I've tried. Since it doesn't need to
be held in place, it can be used even at times when lying down or holding an ice
pack is inconvenient. It's more flexible than most cold packs, and made of a
soft, hypo-allergenic vinyl.
Pros
The band is light-weight and
comfortable.
You can use the headache band
without having to hold it in place.
It's reusable, economic, and cost
effective.
Cons
Velcro closure may catch hair.

Guide Review - Thera-Med Cold Pack Headache Band
Whether you're lying down, working at the office, or
chasing a toddler around the house, the Thera-Med Cold Pack Headache Band can
work for you. With a Velcro strap closure, it's easy to hold in place and light
enough to be comfortable. Made of a soft, gentle vinyl, it doesn't irritate skin
or need an additional cover. Filled with a Cryon gel, I found the band to be
surprisingly flexible, even at its coldest. The 2.5-inch width makes it wide
enough to be helpful, but narrow enough to not be in the way. The band is
effective worn across the forehead or the eyes, and may also be used across the
back of the neck if desired. It retains it's temperature well for 30 minutes,
which is the amount of time recommended before taking a break from ice or other
cold therapies. The only problem I had with the headache band was my hair
getting caught in the Velcro closure while I was wearing it. That was quickly
remedied by wrapping a tissue around the strap after fastening it. After the
first use, I used a scrap of fabric to make a fabric tube to go on the band and
slide over the Velcro after fastening it. A minor problem for such a good
product.
